Aluminum Conductor Steel Supported (ACSS Conductor)
Aluminum conductor steel supported (ACSS Conductor) mainly used in the overhead lines for electricity distribution . ACSS conductor is composed of steel core reinforced core and annealed soft aluminum wire. Similar to but different from ACSR, the aluminum wire in ACSR is a hard drawn aluminum wire. Also in the ACSS/TW conductor, the aluminum wire is trapezoidal, not circular.

Steel strands form the central core of the conductor with two or more layers of aluminum 1350-O wire stranded around it.

This bare conductor cable is used for overhead distribution and transmission lines.
